Volunteer of the Week: Jim Anderson

Jim Anderson Interview

Jim has been volunteering for some time now. He does more than just Mondays at the Free Grocery Store. On Tuesdays and Saturdays he helps with sorting food and then he makes sandwiches and hands out lunches to the folks that might need them in the Safeway parking lot off of Rainier Ave between 2nd and 3rd Ave S in downtown Renton. Jim is a real gift to Sustainable Renton, St. Matthew’s and to our community. Thanks Jim!

Volunteer of the Week: Sebastian

This is Sebastian Randolph. He is an amazing volunteer for Sustainable Renton. There are so many ways people can volunteer for this organization. Sebastian loads food every week from Preston Food Bank to be given away at the Free Grocery Store.

We love the young folks that come to volunteer because it saves some of the older folks’ backs! Thank you young folks!!

Volunteer of the Week: TJ

TJ is one of Sustainable Renton’s invaluable volunteers.

TJ is one of our great volunteers that show up week after week to be of service to Sustainable Renton’s Free Grocery Store. If you are interested in volunteering at our Free Grocery Store, here is the link to sign up. There are many opportunities to get involved with this amazing organization. If Mondays don’t work for volunteering, there are other days during the week when we need help picking up gleans and sorting through food.

If you don’t know about it already, we do have Sustainable Renton Community Farm located in the East Renton Highlands neighborhood. This garden is open anytime of during the week for volunteer opportunities. After a short training session, volunteers are welcome to come and work at the garden whenever their schedule allows. Please email sustainablerenton@gmail.com to arrange a training session and let the fun begin!
