Come one, come all to Sustainable Renton’s Harvest from the Heart event November 12th, 4pm to 7pm at St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Proceeds will benefit Sustainable Renton’s programs and will focus on winterizing the FGS so patrons and volunteers alike have easier access to our supply of free food.
If you would like to make any kind of cash or in-kind donations for the auction (i.e. gift certificates, services, and/or NEW items), please donate here or email email@example.com for donation inquiries.
Although we haven’t blogged all that consistently on this site in the recent past, we will try to revitalize by posting more announcements and general goings-on with Sustainable Renton. Our Free Grocery Store, Community Farm, and Sustainable Talks continue to provide people the resources and knowledge to live more sustainable lives right here in Renton, Washington.
The main point of this post is to announce a Volunteer Appreciation Party happening on July 23rd from 12pm to 4pm at our Community Farm behind Celebration Foursquare Church. The precise address is 11840 148th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98059. Please RSVP via this link by July 13th! Your RSVP will act as your raffle entry for a number of VISA pre-loaded gift cards!
The point and goal of this event is to show our sincere gratitude to all our volunteers who help Sustainable Renton in all of our programming and activities. It is no overstatement to say without our committed volunteers, none of our programs would be able to operate nearly as effectively as possible.
We wanted to upload this letter to let you all know that we are participating in GiveBIG2022!
Today (5/3/22) and tomorrow (5/4/22) mark their online giving event, where donors can make contributions to help us continue the programs we currently operate. Your donation will help expand our community farm operations, secure gleaned groceries and donated produce boxes for our Free Grocery Store, support our bi-monthly sustainable lecture series, and much much more. Donations of any amount are welcomed and appreciated!
As many of you are aware, since our founding in 2010, Sustainable Renton has accomplished a lot: our Free Grocery Store has successfully donated over 1 million pounds of groceries to the community, serving over 30,000 people, over 90% of whom live in Renton; 32 rentable plots at our community farm allows interested community members to try their hand at local food production; our sustainable lecture series introduces community members to a myriad of important sustainability issues to address in their own lives. These programs can only continue with your support, and we cannot thank you enough for the time and effort that you’ve all put into this organization.
